This thread was destined to be started sometime, and since Vlad had it coming anyway, we might as well get over with it...
...the dreaded "Most Annoying Component Contest"! ![]() ![]() So, for me, its gotta be the Result component. I mean - damnit! - it's default surface color is magenta, for cryin' out loud! Can it be any more annoying!? ![]() ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

I dunno, maybe *Blend* just because I can't seem to memorize what all 19 modes are gonna look like at 50% and 100%

Multiple blend -- it has a preset amount of layers to blend and unless you're using one of them, you have to turn it off by reducing opacity to 0. Much better if you could designate how many you want and even better if you could set the blend modes for each.

profile gradient! it's one of the most versatile and useful, but one of the most frustrating due to the non-seamless nature!

What annoys me about many components is their default parameter values. While I understand these have been set to visually demonstrate the effect of components to new filter authors, it really becomes very tedious to 'zero' them out over and over again (with 'Multiblend', 'Offset' and the various pattern components being particularly bad).
In the long run I think we'll need to be able to save our own parameter defaults for components, or at least be able to deactivate this 'visual demonstration mode' globally for all components. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

tiles, pavements, and bricks are the worst when it comes to presets! having to zero out H Range, L Range, S Range, Mortar Width, Bevel Width, and that terrible Chaos slider every time i open one of these, it just drives me nuts. though the default for the frame component might be worse. yes, it shows very well what each color and slider does to the frame, but once you know that without looking, it gets annoying. and why are IntSliders always set at seven??? |

hehe, there are lots of these. threshold smooth always set to 10, but yes, the big control filters can be quite annoying.

Wouldn't that be a little like, um, getting annoyed with a ... pink slider? [ducking and running ----------------------------------------------------->>>] |

That's exactly the reason why I choose 100% pink for it ![]()

Here here!! I'd love to be able to set the blend mode for the multi-blend. I have many filters I haven't submitted because of the ridiculous 'tree' of blends i have to set up because multi blend won't let me set my mode. |

Being able to remap and be selective over which blends will be used or you can remap a number of parameters with in the one input [ for example 10 to 18, 32 to 34, 45 to 58 etc ] - so remapping is annoying [ I know its not strictly a component ]

I want to add the 'Selection' component. Each time I have tried to use it I walked away baffled by what FF was thinking.
