Hi, looking at FF and before I purchase I have couple of really quick questions:

1. Does it work with PhotoshopCS3 ?
2. Whats the support like ?
3. If I purchase the download will I be able to run it on my PC & Laptop (so two downloads).

thanks in advance for any answers

<Edit> works with CS3 (downloaded the trial) although a bit slow when showing the inital texture (the whole texture is not shown immediately it is shown tile by tile - maybe this is normal).

thanks

yes, the display will render tile by tile.

FF shld work with any editor that accepts photoshop compatible .8bf plugins.

the support is good. i've been here since the early beta test days and always found the FF team accessible and more than willing to help. and since the beta, there have been several version updates with fixes. just be aware that the forums are not the same thing as the contact e-mail. forums will give you irregular help, while the e-mail contact link is the proper and more reliable way to contact FF.

for your third question, there are threads here in the forums dealing with that and you can always read the EULA (end user license agreement). for me to say you can or cant wouldnt be appropriate, since this is a legal matter and i aint no lawyer smile;)
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Thanks for the reply Kraellin.

I have been playing around with FF and Genetica to see which one would be best for me to purchase. What attracts me to FF is that its a PS plugin but over and above that its the support (updates/new versions/bug fixes) that is the most important.

One final question: Do I have to download each filter separately of is there a 'download all' facility?

thanks again for the help

You wouldn't want to download 3800 filters all at once... smile:-) ...besides, you can't, you'll just have to download them one at a time (the're fairly small in filesize).

There's no "download all filters" option, but, as Sjeiti rightly says, this is unnecessary -- there are too many of them.

There is, however, an option for multiple downloads. You've got to switch to the built-in Filter Library browser instead of the website. This is how to do it:

1. Run Filter Forge.
2. Go to Main Menu > Tools > Options > Online tab.
3. Select the "Use the built-in library browser (obsolete)" option.

After this, the link to the Library in the upper right corner of the Main Window will be replaced by a button that opens the built-in browser. You'll be able to download multiple filters by first adding them to the download list and then downloading them.
