hi all,
i have a few ideas for filters that use selections, but i can't figure out how to use the selection component. anyone here familiar with it? i've searched the forums and checked the help files but they have not been helpful. even downloading filters that use the selection component did nothing for me, as they just look like regular filters... basically, i don't know how to see the outcome of the filter while i'm working on it, since there is no default selection... |

If you're using FF in standalone mode, you'll have to manually load a selection in order to see its effect (File > Open Selection...). Any color image will work as a selection, but greyscale images tend to be more intuitive. You could use the one below, for example...
