Hello
I searched the forums and the wiki to find a clearer answer but I couldnt find it. Excuse me if it sounds stupid ![]() I'm seriously considering buying the basic version of FF. In the features it is stated that the basic version doesn't allow modification of existing filters. Does that mean I cannot modify a filter using it as a base for my own, or does this mean I can only use the preset with the default settings? Thank you so much Patrizia |

You can't create your own filters or modify existing filters (no editor) with the basic version.....but I believe you can create your own user-defined presets on any filter.....

welcome to FF, patslash.
filter forge is a two part program, making filters and using filters. the basic edition ONLY allows using filters. so, you would be limited to using any and all filters and all that they can do with whatever controls are provided by any given filter and that includes adding presets. so, you can alter a filter in the sense of using the controls provided in the interface for using that filter. you cannot alter the basic internal parts via the built in editor, which is the part that contructs (or alters) the components and controls of a filter...with the basic edition of FF. so, whatever controls the author has put in for that filter, yes, you can alter those and save those settings as a preset. so, with the basic edition, you would have access to every filter in the library and every part of those filters that is in the main USER interface. you just wouldnt be able to alter the underlying construction of the filter or make new filters. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I would suggest trying out the trial demo before you buy.....you can get up to 90 days use of the "full" program (if you are contributing filters and request additional time extensions).....which would allow you a chance to get a free copy while checking out what version of the program you would really want.....

i got the trial alrady. i dont think i will ever be able to afford a more expensive version, that is why i asked this question. the trial has got aal features, and i was interested in knowing what exactly the basic features are.
i don't think i'll be able to contribute filters as well, and i'd like to take chance of the 10% discount. thank you one more time |

Craig, I like your new bottom line...
![]() Although, shouldn't it be: "fitlers, fitlers, fitlers... NO FITLERS FOR YOU!!!"? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |
