OK, this is not FF, so feel free to ignore (at your own arsenal's risk though!)...
ArtRage Homepage Normally, I try not to do marketing crap (except on my own filters, of course! Just bought the new version online (the new features finally had me convinced), and was up and running a few minutes later. After dabbling in it I can say it's almost as addictive as FF. Awesome natural-media painting tool for my evening doodles... --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Yeah, for $25 it's certainly tempting. The umm, features or about or whatever, doesn't really give a ton of info though. Is it stand-alone, or can it be used as a plug-in inside Fotoshoppe and the like ? Does it run filters inside of it, or is it just is a one trick stand-alone pony ? At 25$, even if it was just it's own thing and didn't work with any otherr pogram or filter it would probably appeal to a lot of people, just not me in this case.

It's standalone, no filters, but it exports PSD files for Ye Olde Photoshoppe.
They have a stripped down 'starter edition' available for download for anyone who wants to give the tool a test run. And here's a rather nice review of ArtRage...

I just ordered my upgrade to v3 Studio Pro. One nice thing: It's supposed to support pohsotop filters, so there may be a chance that it also works with FF.
Did anyone test Artrage 3 with FF yet? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

wow. i didnt see this thread before. i have artrage 2 starter edition. very clever program, but i havent bought the full version so dont know about the filters or FF with it. and if you like artrage you might also take a look at ArtWork by Akvis. it's more procedural than artrage, but quite good at simulating paintings. and no, it wont work with filters or FF and is also only stand-alone.

At least on my Mac, it doesn't work properly (with V3 Studio pro).
The ArtRage image is properly sent to filterforge, but when applying the filter, the colors are all wrong. |

I just tested it on my Vista 64-bit machine at the studio. FF2 installed itself into the programsx86 folder and runs properly as standalone. As a plug-in for ArtRage 3 Studio Pro it comes up fine in the interface but fails to deliver a result that matches what I see in the FF2 preview pane. Something is just not speaking the same language. I would *love* to see FF working in AR3 Studio Pro.

looks like the use of an online foreign language translator.

That app is nice, for the FF plugin i get the same thing as Fashmir but the problem could be with the code they use as some other plugins don't work or make errors.
