Spread The Love!!! :)

Ever since I joined up here, I've been taking alot of time trying to help authors get exposure on their filters by commenting on them. Unfortunately, alot of the 'one-way-streets" are getting kinda "old".....commenting on other people's filters who have not ever given any of my filters the time of day.....if you know what I mean

The moral of the story is....."spread the love" and/or constuctive critism on other peoples filters and they will most likely reciprocate it back on to your filters.....helping you with constructive critism for improvements, beneficial comments for users to read, Cudos, and exposure.....

I'm feeling a little badly about all this, and the only thing I can say is, as far as it depends on me I tend to be a sort of straight-forward participant in forums. I honestly haven't talked so much in all the forums or newsgroups I've ever attended in the last 10-12 years.

Personally I learned a lot of things that I've been following as a rule for myself in getting by in a group of people who are sharing their work with each other.

1. Don't share ANYTHING that you are afraid will get stolen or misused... it WILL happen. I've learned this personally in a painful way many many moons ago. If you really don't want it abused don't use (on the internet at least)

2. Don't give out personal info on yourself that can come back and be used maliciously against you... another very painful experience which I had to learn from twice (sad to say). We can always be friendly and kind and keep ourself from allot of hurt later on because life and situations change constantly which will affect the way people react or feel day to day.

3. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all... (Thumper's mommy from Disney's "Bambi")
Silence can be golden, but I do understand and appreciate your feelings on this subject, Steve... I really do. But, I have also learned from life-on-the-internet experiences I've had to cope with is that it's best to be be honest with a nice amount of polite and kind words... and lot of appropriate 'Smilies' to convey your true mood
For me, I don't tend to spread anything around unless I genuinely feel it, then of course I will share it with you... if at my old age I can remember to do so, that is

And 4. Don't take things too personal because it's impossible to gauge things through a response of b&w words being typed over a period of time while we can contemplate what we are saying or going to say and even make corrections before hitting the 'Send' button. There are allot of filters I have made that, although get downloaded and used, have no comments at all.. or I comment on them just to make sure to share an idea on what one might like to explore in using my filters, and still get no reply back. But I don't expect any, so when I do get one it's nice, and hopefully it's an honest reply and not one just said to make me feel better.

I know it's easy to say all this, and I am just as vulnerable and human as any of you, I have good and bad days, I cry and laugh easily and feel more than I would ever express to others openly, but my love of art and creating keep me coming back here despite the real physical pain I have to suffer to get here, or the silly human frailties i will no doubt show now and again (steps sheepishly down from her soapbox)

Ahem... anyway, sorry for the long winded post. I only hope that if I have somehow hurt or offended anyone at all that you might consider why I did this or said that, or maybe didn't do or say something at all. For anything I've personally done I am truly sorry. And I want to know that if someone says something to me they mean what they say (aside from all the bantering and teasing which is a fun distraction I do enjoy). I hope that I can return the honesty by sharing what I feel for what someone has created and shared. If I like it I'll either say so or hopefully say so when I remember

Yeah, I kinda follow the same thing.....if I can't say anything nice, I don't say anything at all. If I see where an improvement can be made, I offer one of my 'humble plebian suggestions' LOL....
