Greetings,
Under "Things to know about Usage Rank" it says: Usage Rank reflects real usage, not the number of votes or downloads. It is based on how often people use (apply or save) a particular filter. How do you know how often people are using a particular filter? I have made a few filters that I haven't submitted yet because the queue is full, but I'm using them myself. Is that reflected at your end? Is there a cookie in my PC that sends the data back to you? Just curious... Donna |

From my understanding anything you do in the "My Filters" section won't be counted towards the usage rank. Only the downloaded filters will count towards this.
I don't believe the program uses cookies since its not based on html/web browser technology. As of right now there are only three possible useage ranks: Average, High, & Low. Perhaps as they recieve more submissions they will add more. |

Uberzev, yes, you're right.
We count the usage of all filters stored in the Filter Library: the ones that are included with the program and the ones you download manually. |

No cookies, but yes, Filter Forge does send the usage stats to our servers -- only upon your explicit permission. If you do not want to contribute these data, you just say "no". |
