What makes your filter a high rank?

I ask because i see filters with one or 2 downloads and there automaticly set as high. And others with a hundred or two downloads and there set as average or low...

So what makes a high rank?

Interesting question, let me start by chaning your question, and by doing so I will answer your question. Think of it not as high rank, think rather high usage (and this is so fitting it has become a common reference to High ranking, example HU); and there is the answer to your question. People must USE your filter, downloads me nothing. Using your filter, saving pictures made with your filter, putting your filter in there favorite catagory helps lead your filter into the High Usage catagory. Check this out. http://www.filterforge.com/more/rank.html

The ones you see with 2 downloads are packaged with FF so you have no incentive to download them.

Now I have gathered through experience, and through study, and through sabatoge... no, scratch that last one, just experience and study, that it generally takes 3 + months to get a HU filter. But don't dismay, you already have 2 filters that I think are HU worthy, and that is impressive. Make only quality filters, get feedback from the community, do your reasearch, and I think you should be well on your way to 5 HU. There is a saying in Korean, Kut Kadji Keundim ( I hate Konglish), Endure to the End!

P.S. Take everything that I said with a large grain of salt, because as of yet I have a grand total of ...

Is that like asking, "Pardon me sir, but how do I get to Carnegie Hall?" ha-ha, same old answer really, practice, and in the case of FF filters, wait. It just takes time to get high usage filters, time to make ones that are going to become high usage, and time for people to use them a lot. Advertising/promoting them a bit in the forums does not hurt either, some of us have found. smile;)

----Well, I never recommend just "spamming" ha-ha, but if you have one or two really cool filters that you think have maybe been overlooked or whatever, then show us some before and after examples with a *legal* pic, and that usually will draw some comments, and maybe some extra usage for sure. smile:)
