I've just noticed that some filter makers are initiating threads in the Comments forum with examples of what their filters can do. I've found this very helpful, because some filters are not shown well by the life preserver. Also, it is easy to find, because the filter's web page has a link right to the thread in comments.

I don't know if this is standard procedure, because we also have a gallery forum. But it seems like a very good idea.

yes, standard procedure. think of the comments forum as marketing. nothing wrong with blowing your own horn. and the gallery forum is for showing sneak peaks, getting some help and advice and just plain showing off.

you'll often see a filter result show up in the gallery first, without the filter and then the filter will show up later in the comments forum after it's been submitted and approved.

i started the user gallery way back. i just wanted to show some things off. vlad added the comments gallery and then later a more formal gallery, stickied.

the gallery is more about the end result of a filter. the comments one is more about the filter itself.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
