I'm prolly missing something really obvious here: I was editing some smaller images (768x768) but nevertheless wanted the View menu > Preview Size > Reduced to persist. However, each time I open Filter Forge to apply a filter, it always goes back to Actual, which I don't want.
I checked the options and it looks like the closest thing is Rendering tab > "Reduce preview size for large images". But nothing more specific. Is there a way to get it to stick like I want? Thanx in advance! ![]() I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures |

I should also mention it's odd how a 768x768 image would not be considered a "large image" within the context of FF, because it doesn't fully fit into the Preview window to begin with.

Hi Torley,
I just took a look at this and I am still not sure what you mean. I just zoom in and out as need be. There is a "lock preview" function but that relates to locking the view to a single filter component. There was a response to one of my queries about image size, that since FF is designed as a plug in that this type of function may not have been considered important. It sounds like a 'save settings' type of thing that you are looking for. Perhaps resizing the image before entering FF may help. On size perception I think that relates to the screen resolution you may be using. On my screen 768 x 768 is only a medium size image. I run my resolution at 1280 x 1024 on a 20 in. monitor. And FF would not consider 768' to be that large as it's upper most limit is like 65,000 pixels if I remember correctly. I hope some of this helps. ![]() at least 90 percent of all sensation is texture, even beyond the visual, with elements of noise, tone, gradients, interval and degree.

Hi infiniview! Thanks for your input... what I simply mean is that: you know how in Filter Forge's View menu > Preview Size, you can either choose from "Actual" or "Reduced"? In the specific example I described above (a 768x768 image), each time I use Filter Forge on it, it "snaps" the Preview Size setting back to "Actual", when I want it to stay at "Reduced".
This is inconvenient because I either have to keep setting the Preview Size = Reduced, or zoom as you suggested. But all those extra mouse movements and click add up to workflow inefficiencies. How do I always, always automatically have Preview Size = Reduced regardless of image size, unless I choose otherwise? ![]() (And pardon, I didn't mention that the Filter Forge window can be resized; doing so appeared to make no different on the above.) Currently, there's no way to do that automatically. To do this quickly, you can use the right-click menu. |

^ Got it. That's not ideal, but... better and appreciated!
