Hi folks
Ok, I just downloaded this program last friday at work, and am making some interesting progress at making some unique filters, but I would like to take these filters I am working on home with me, and develop them some more at home. Is there a way to save them and send a copy to myself at home? Sorry if its a bit of a basic question...I will try for more intellegent ones later LOL |

In Filter Forge, you single-click on the filter you want to take home. Then from the menu select Filter|Locate File. This will highlight the file you need to copy and take home. When you get home, double click on it and open in FF.

There's also a hotkey for Filter > Locate File - it's Ctrl+L

Ok...next question. I have had some interesting results of blending elements from a couple (or more) different existing filters together to make something new. I would like to submit them, but since they are variations on existing filters, I do not want to even try to pass them off as something wholey original. What would be considered "good form" for such things? or should I just keep them to myself? |

IMHO, if you come up with something interesting by blending elements of other filters, there is nothing wrong with this. That is how methods improve and expand. As for concerns about giving credit, you can do that at the end of your filter description.
