Source / Open Image if I understand what you want. If you have a set of images: Source / Open Video or Sequence

Looking at the menu on the left you have a filter selected under the Textures category. Those do not work with images and you would need to edit the filter to add your own. Or just render the frame itself and use a graphics app to edit the frame and image together.
Filters under the Effects category are the filters that deal with images.

Thank you for your reply CFandM.

I am confused in previous versions I was able to use frames in both texture and effects with no problem.

For example I made this myself texture/frames (not made anything since cause forgotten how to do it....).
Any idea why this is the reason now?

Same as previous versions the effects deal with images and textures do not. To make the filters work with images in the texture category you have to edit the filter and add that function yourself.

Oh I see.
So is it complicated to make a texture frame for example the one I created Brown & Beige.... work as a frame which will outline the image I need to? smile:?:

Here is a quick video of how to do that. Adding an image function to filter.

You can use any size image with the filter but there is a way to make it work with the filter. Without explaining in depth first figure out what image you want to use instead of the dog and what the size of that image is. Now in filter forge go to the menu at the top and select -source-blank image.

Then in the dialog that pops up put in the size of your image in the width and height. Then click on the Fill Color and in the Color picker set the alpha at 0. Then click OK etc.....

Now load your image into your filter and your frame should fit the image.

You can follow what I did but with the images backwards. smile:D
or if you go to the filter forge main menu at the top go to tools-options then the options dialog will pop up.
Choose the Filter Editor tab and change the direction of connections to the same as mine then click Ok and then edit
the filter.

If you have followed and changed the settings for the control that you added to the filter then and if your settings look like the one I posted then the next step is as follows. In the settings for the filter next to the source text there is a triangle looking pull down button, click on that. A pull down submenu pops up where you can load the image you want. Load Image- Open.

I have done all the above CFandM, thank you! smile:D
Which is great if you want to put a square picture into the frame I created a while back.

How can I put a landscape image into the same frame, change the frame size?
Here is what I would like to put in the frame... smile;)

It depends on the filter. Some of the filters are square only and some work with the landscape aspect. In one of my frame filters that only work with square images I posted in the comments how to make it work with the landscape aspect. However you will need a graphics editors for that. Non Square workaround

How do I know what frames are square or landscape?

I am not sure why FF have changed I used to have no problems with frames what ever I needed to frame was so simple not it's so hard. smile:cry:

Go to the link that I posted about my non-square workaround and answers are there.
