I was wondering how long updates (if any) will be available to those who received free copies?

Until a major update comes along, I'd wager. And before that comes, it'll have to go through another beta process. We'll be safe for a while... smile;)

Updates (1.x, 2.x etc), as opposed to Upgrades, are free for everyone. Upgrades, say, from 1.x to 2.x, will be paid.
