Filter Forge 11/12 Install help

Stacey, welcome to the forums!

To install FF, please download and run the installation wizard from the Download page.

When installing it should give you an option to install the plug-in.

Stacey, first you say "cannot get it to install at all", then "I have downloaded, installed and registered my copy". So, does FF work for you or not? You need to make the standalone version works fine before troubleshooting the plugin.

Also, CFandM is correct: you need to enable the plugin checkbox in the installation wizard.

This may not be relevant, but Photoshop has recently been updated to the new 2023 version, which, from past experience, does not support previous versions of Filter Forge. In fact, I'm fuming because today, Adobe overrode my cloud preferences to NOT update Photoshop, for this very reason. Now I can't use FF until version 12 is released.

Looks like you'll have to install the plugin manually.
Please check these two locations:

Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2022/Plug-Ins/Filters/
Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/

and remove all Filter Forge 11-related files from there.

Make sure to terminate Photoshop (not just collapse into Dock).

Next, open the Applications > Filter Forge 11 folder.
In another Finder window, open Library > Application Support > Adobe > Plug-Ins > CC.

Next, create an alias for the “Filter Forge 11 universal.plugin” file in the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/ folder (Alt+Command+drag and drop the file from the first window to the second one).

Finally, run Photoshop 2022 and check if Filter Forge appears on the Filter list.

One more thing... when I did check the "Help > System Info" this is what I see (hope it helps):

If there is no "Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/" folder on your Mac, you need to create it.

No. Copying files to a random location will make things worse. Please remove the alias from the folder wh ere it doesn't belong.
