I have PS CS5...ancient I know. I can get Filter Forge 9 to work perfectly on it, but when I try to add new filters, say a filter that was created using FF1, I'm being told I need to upgrade to the newest edition of FF, which will not work in my CS5. So my question is, if the filter is from an older version, why do I have to update my FF to get it to work? I'm already using FF9 in my CS5 for a FF1 filter. I don't understand why it would not work. I should be able to use any filters from FF9 to 1 without a problem.

Yep, you need to install the latest version of FF9. You might not have the last version that was posted. You can find that in this thread.

The message does not make reference to upgrade to FF 10, just to upgrade to the latest version of FF9 as downloading any kind of filters can only be done with latest updated version of the same number that you are using
