NEW FRESH FF VERSION FOR FF 8, FF 9, FF 10 or FF 11 IMPORT BACKUP AUTOMATICALLY

When you install a new version of Filter Forge (FF) after FF 8 for the first time that only has the default filters and default settings you can very easily import a backup made by Filter Forge 8, 9 or 10

So, you can go to the previous FF version that you want to import into the new one and then go to Tools menu —> Backup Filters and settings

Then close the older FF version, and open the new FF version and go to Tools Menu —> Restore Filters and settings

MERGE PREVIOUS FILTERS IN ALREADY USED NEW VERSION WITH MANY DOWNLOADED FILTERS AND CUSTOM ONES MADE BY YOU

If you installed the new version BUT you have continued using it and downloaded filters and have created some filters yourself the above suggestion will NOT WORK, because it will delete everything you may have downloaded and created as is told in the following message when you try to restore

Quote
Warning: all your current filters and settings will be replaced with those fr om the backup file. This action cannot be undone. After restoration is complete, Filter Forge will restart automatically.
Are you sure you want to continue?

So then you need to do it manually yourself copying the filters from the corresponding folders of the older FF version to the same corresponding folders of the new FF version, and restart FF so it can recognize and add them

There is a thread that I will put that tells exactly wh ere are located the filters and settings for you to copy them and I will put it here when I find it

Thanks and wish this may be helpful for you
