I buy my stuff here, but I’m active at DAZ’s forums and I’ve seen this question come up a lot…
Apparently DAZ does not make it clear how one gets their serial number or where to download their copy of FF…

In general, serial numbers appear in one’s account there under “serial numbers” but often new folks or individuals who don’t usually buy stuff with serial numbers, get confused by how to obtain the serial number… sometimes also something goes wrong and it doesn’t appear…
Also people often buy it and don’t know where to find the download link… generally it should appear in the product library but at the moment there seems to be some confusion about that over there…

I’m just posting this as a heads-up for whom ever it may concern, because FF staff is usually pretty good at addressing concerns…

You might want to amend (or have DAZ amend) the information on DAZ’s Filter Forge product page to include information about where to expect to find the aforementioned information like download links and serial numbers.

I’d suggest this to DAZ myself, but they don’t care about things like that and everything is “file a ticket”.

I’d be happy to relay any official info about this for future discussions or questions, but it would probably make more sense to edit the actual product page info to include the relevant information.

I hope this isn’t isn’t obnoxious or anything, but I’ve always found FF’s staff very helpful and hopefully this is something they’d want to know about.

McGyver, thanks for bringing this up. We've been selling FF through DAZ since version 7, and this is the first time there is a confusion about downloads. We're unable to modify the product page ourselves, all we can do is to file a ticket.

Judging from the response on the DAZ forum, the DAZ stuff are already looking into the issue.

I have no idea how deeply DAZ would be looking into that issue as generally, unless it’s an issue that is easily solved by suggestions from other members on their forums, their response is “File A Ticket” which sometimes seems akin to putting a message in a bottle and throwing it it in the ocean… there are individuals who are waiting months if not years for official solutions or replies about issues with products or content (this comes up routinely in discussions on their forums)… Since DAZ gives refunds fairly easily, I suppose that’s their justification for “less than timely” problem solving… “if you aren’t satisfied, just return it for a refund”…

Currently there is another thread going on the forums there about messed up serial numbers/key… one individual is claiming to have received a 76 character long key… Since DAZ seems to issue their own versions of software keys for the user’s product library, it appears something is definitely messed up on DAZ’s end… I hope they do fix whatever the issue is because unfortunately sometimes people don’t realize these problems are nota Filter Forge issue, but a DAZ issue.

Personally I always recommend people purchase FF directly from this site as opposed to DAZ, but some folks prefer to have all their stuff managed for them in one place.

Today, on July 8th, we received a message from DAZ3D stating the issue should be resolved within two business days. I won't comment on that, just feel sorry for the folks who haven't received their license since early June.
