I have just seen the new website for the release of FF 10 and I think it looks great and well done, like much the design, and it looks now sharper the text and better and on the filters page now have much better, sharper and bigger thumbnails that looks better and you can see them easier.
When you are inside the forum I have seen that now it also fills all the available space on the screen and I am not wrong it seems that the space to write the posts are now bigger Is really great that now the forum window is resizable and all the text and images are arranged according to the window size, which is very good ![]() Congratulations on the new website , great work what is missing in the new website is the small window of the FF facebook with the last post, I do not have a facebook account, and was looking at the window to know what was posted there by FF team. ![]() |

I like some of the changes, but not all. I think the site looks more modern and I like the larger thumbnails which do a better job of showcasing the filters, especially for potential customers.
I dislike that when you now click on a filter (e.g. from the gallery of featured or recent filters), you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to see the information that used to be at the top of the page (e.g. link to leave a comment, information about the filter, etc.). That is not user friendly. There would be room for that information but it is taken up by the marketing blurb. I see that the product is still "on sale" like it has been for years and that the "Most Popular Filters" gallery is still not an accurate representation of the most popular filters. There are brand new filters listed in that section that only have a handful of downloads. |

The website is an improvement overall. I agree with the previous comments. Better looking medium size graphics with shading, a very good job was done on those. A bit crowded. The Most Popular filters emphasize filters that have had a lot of downloads AND been upgraded. So right now my filters are dominating the section since I upgraded a bunch of filters with the Bitmap Cache component. The Featured Filters seem to be from a smaller group of EC filters than before, but I don't know how you did the upgrade of the site.
Also, the image at the beginning of the Comments on Filters is the wrong size (jagged edges), for example: https://filterforge.com/images/filters/15737-small.jpg for the Polygram filter comment. It probably should be: https://filterforge.com/images/filters/15737.jpg ... and can be scaled with width and height parameters to the img html. Also new filters are given a short term shot in the Popular section. It has been that way for awhile. Currently there are not a lot of new filters so the movement of filters in and out of Popular and Submitted is pretty slow for the moment. Math meets art meets psychedelia. |

I also like the new look of the website. The Filters and Gallery sections seem to be more visually appealing and I like the larger thumbnails.
I actually like the Popular Filters section - I've found a few interesting filters there. I realize that it's name may be a little misleading since it's showing the filters that have been most downloaded over the last few days but I'm not sure what else you would call it. One thing that could be improved is the filter search. Even if you type in the exact name of a filter that filter isn't always near the top of the results. For example a search for "Smooth Tiling" has seven filters that rank higher in the search results than the filter called "Smooth Tiling". I would have expected a match in the title to carry more weight when ranking the results. |

Yes, the filter search is very user-unfriendly in this regard. I don't have any need for the FilterForge library that can be purchased, but I considered buying it only under the condition that the search would be better. When I was told the search would be the same, I didn't get it.
The problem I have with the Most Popular Filters section is really the name. It is a misnomer. What will a potential customer think when he clicks on a filter and reads that it has only 41 downloads and the "usage rank" is "average". And that is one of the "most popular" filters! Of course one can find some interesting filters there, but there are other, less misleading ways to browse filters to find gems. I think it would be better if they called it "Most Popular Filters in the past few days". I suspect this section will never change, but opinionated me can't let go of it ![]() |
