As everybody (or most of us know) there are several cases where we must use a Particle Adapter before to insert a particle in a Bomber or a Bomber+.
The Particle Adapter surely has its good sides, but it also deforms any image that is not a perfect square. There have been many talks about how to solve this problem. Among these, there was also the idea to simply ignore the warning when we were aware of what we were doing. I don't know if this has been accepted for uploading a filter in the Library. Then, can we upload a filter containing a Particle Adapter warning? |

Well, the several cases, are really for 5 components that you need to connect one particle adapter for each one of this 5 components just after the components and not anywhere else. Particle Adapter Help in FF
And about this
Well, I do not know about this and have not any test about it, so I can not help in this.
Well it has happened to me that I have a Bomber warning and I have to see ALL the subtree searching for any of the below and be sure that all of this 5 components have their own particle adapter The way to solve this is to connect one particle adapter JUST AFTER any of the components here below Image Selection Color Control Grayscale Control Frame So if inside your filter you have any of these components, you must put a particle adapter for each one of this components, and the Particle adapter will not work if you put it just before bomber
I do not think that it will be allowed to upload a filter with a warning, you should solve any warning. |

First of all, there is a very good reason for this, consistency and procedural:
My workaround has always been the switch/portrait option checkbox as shown here. It is the only way I've found to input non-square images into the bomber+ and return the correct aspect for the result image. My only thoght would be to make it automatic and remove the component. Perhaps add a Particle Adapter option to the existing components that can use external images. Or add an XY Anchor option to the Particle Adapter?! ![]() Math meets art meets psychedelia. |

Maybe using an obsolete Switch it doesn't appear. I saw you use version 6.003

Ok. It is a good turn around.
Before, to avoid the problem of the deformed result, I used a set of Scale and Offset components after the Bomber, but it is very complicate to re-shape the image. |

Ah, not a bug my friend. The change made to the Switch in FF7 was to greenify the Selector input. In the logic of FF, that's why the new switch does not work, the logic is that the Selector could have any value since it's green, and that causes the warning.

Anyway, as I said, it is useful.
So we should not change it. |

I think that it would be good maybe to see an example of this in a screenshot and see really what is the problem and how the image is deformed by the particle adapter, I mean to see the result with and without the particle adapter. If I understand correctly, you mean that you want to feed a non-square source image to bomber and it is deformed by the particle adapter Using the Switch 6.003 solves the problem? or only removes the warning but is it still deforming the image? |

I'm sure that the Particle Adapter has its utility, but it also creates big deformation problems. Some cases, like in my example, not using the Particle Adapter is much better.
The Switch 6.003, for some reason, is different from all others. If I plug into the Switch both the "Image + Particle Adapter" and the Image alone, when selecting "Image + Particle Adapter", the Switch does not detect that my Image is also connected without the Particle Adapter. Then it doesn't show a warning. The advantage when not showing a warning is that the filter can be uploaded in the Library. Any other Switch, older or newer, have a warning no matter you select the Image alone or the "Image + Particle Adapter". This way the user has the chance to choose if letting the Image passing through a Particle Adapter or not. |
