Hello from Australia.
Yes it is me again regarding batch rendering. I have FF Professional Edition 9, for Windows 10 latest update. I would like to pay someone to create a batch render program so that I can batch render dozens of files overnight. Could someone please give me an idea of what you would charge. As I have no idea what the cost would be. Perhaps we could start at $200 Australian. Does that sound like a reasonable offer to start from? The program would be very similar to the excellent FFBatch Tool which I have been using with FF 7, but it unfortunately crashes. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Paul. I think I might be offering a starting price that's too low.
How about $300 AU for starters. Paul. Winner Jean Bogan Piano Composition Competition 2016

If you are willing to "get your hands dirty" a bit I'd suggest you try modeling out what you want with Knime. I've used it in the past to do chained batch rendering and other odd batch things that FFBatchTool wasn't capable of handling. You can look at the batch job generated by FFBatchTool to get an idea of what you need to model out in Knime. It's fairly simple really just a bunch of XML crafting and out pops a batch script that can be run with the native FF cmd Renderer.
It's diverse enough that I was working on a Knime workflow for auto-upgrading filters but never got very far before I got hugely distracted from that. Still, I think it can be done. Along with a bunch of other cool things like mass generating random presets for filters. You could even do generated filters or freaky machine learning generated filters if you wanted to get really hardcore with it ![]() For basic chain rendering or selective preset rendering, it's not very hard. I think it only took me like half a day at most to get it running. Quite handy though since you can control the output names and locations to whatever degree you desire (per image, filter, preset, etc.). Once you get one going it's easy to port that into other odd rendering tasks. You may need some extensions or plugins beyond what it comes with to pull it off. Not really sure as I have most of them I wouldn't know if I used only native nodes or others as well. Those are free too though. |

In the past it was possible to use FFBatchTool on versions it wasn't specifically compiled for. For example, you could copy your FF8 Library folder and rename it to the FF7 Library folder, then tell FFBatchTool you were using FF7 but point it to the FF8 CMDrenderer.exe file instead of the FF7 version it wants to target. It would then be able to navigate the library and render FF8 filters even though it was only meant to be for FF7.
I'm not sure if this still works for FF9 though as I currently only have version 8 still. Be sure to backup your library folders and such if you do try all that so as not to overwrite anything ![]() It is somewhat of a pian to do this though as each time you edit a filter or make a new one you'll have to sync the FF version you're using with the phony Library for it to notice the changes. |

I think that the best way I can think is that you send aba (the author of FF Batch Tool) this request and maybe could be interested in making it for you
And how would you use this Knime with filter forge? Sorry that I have no idea of scripting |

No worries. I imagine there are a lot of people in the same boat. Knime can be used separately as a means to generate the XML batch file the FF cmd renderer exe that comes with FF needs for batch operations. Knime is a node-based data processing software that you can use to dynamically form the FF batch XML. Using it you can link in and read the filter files which are a custom XML type file. Then you can form the batch operation around the presets fr om the filter, telling it which presets to render, at what size, wh ere, etc. If you look at the filter files in something like Notepad++ and do the same for a batch XML file generated by FFBatchTool it should become apparent what needs to be accomplished in Knime to make a customized batch job. After you get Knime to spit out your batch XML file you simply drag and drop it onto the Cmd Render exe file and away it goes. Knime, it's plugins, and Notepad++ are all free btw ![]() |

Well, I think that FFcreator deserves the money if it may fullfill all your needs and what you wanted, or if not enough and want more things, pay him to do what you want and need as he knows how to do it
Thanks very much for your great help and I would surely pay you a donation but regrettably I am unemployed now, but will do when I can |

Thank you for your response SpaceRay
I have downloaded the new FFEasyRender and will send FFCreator a donation. The program utility will be awesome if it works perfectly in FF9, and will have made my day. Best wishes and keep up the great work. Winner Jean Bogan Piano Composition Competition 2016

Feel free to use FFEasyRender. If you like it, you can recommend it to others. Donations are a contribution to the costs for my (hobby) website and to buy upgrades for myself. |

Thank you Sara for your donation.
It keeps my motivation to publish tools I develop and use myself in the Filter Forge community. Version 2.2 of FFEasyRender with some new features is in development. It still needs a major update of the "manual". |
