I updated to photoshop 2020 and my filter forge and photodonut filter plugins disappeared from the filter drop-down menu. How do I get them back? Reinstalling didn't do it.

Have this problem too. I only have owned Filter Forge a few months.

You need Filter Forge 9 to see it in Photoshop 2020. You need to either upgrade Filter Forge or add Photoshop 2019 back in using the legacy versions link in the Creative Cloud app.

Sign Guy is correct: Filter Forge 8 only supports CC 2019, while Filter Forge 9 supports both 2019 and 2020.

I just bought FF9, but I'm getting the "Filter Forge is running" message when attempting to use the Photoshop 2020 plugin. My image does not transfer over. Please advise.

If you get the "Filter Forge is running” message when trying to open FF on Photoshop, could it be perhaps that you may have FF standalone already open and working?

because you can not use both standalone and plugin version at the same time, is one or the other.

If you do not want to use FF 9, you can also install a previous version of Photoshop and used it TOGETHER with Photoshop 2020 as you are allowed with the Adobe suscription to have multiple Photoshop version as I have told here in this other thread

Well, sorry that I really do not know really how to recover them, but I think that before doing an update is recommended to make a backup of all the favorites and custom filters so if something happens you could recover them.

I did update to ff9 ... and it looks like ff8 is still on my system, too. I just want to know where to find the favorites folder so I can copy from one to the other.

Favorites are stored in a single file. You can copy it from c:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Filter Forge 8\Favorites.xml

to

c:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Filter Forge 9\Favorites.xml

Just switched to Photoshop 2020. The Filter Forge 9 dropdown shows up under 'Filters' but it won't launch due to a "program error."

Can someone help me with this?

So if I'm understanding this thread correctly, FF is not showing up in Photoshop 2020 unless I have the absolute latest and greatest FF v.9? Perfectly understandable and reasonable to a degree. After all, a company of this nature can't stay in business if they don't keep up with technology.
However, when the FF v.10 subscription eventually rolls out, will it also be locked into only the latest version of Photoshop, which I'm assuming will be PS v.2021?

This problem is getting redundant... I updated to Photoshop 2021 and downloaded FF10, but I can't see it in photoshop ... what am I missing? And how do I avoid having to rebuild my favorites folder?
