When we use the editor, every time that we change something, FF updates the result.
It is very nice, because it allows us to keep always under control how the things change.
Anyway, when the filter is very big, or when we use particularly slow components sets, it may take time.
There are cases where we don't need to be updated step by step about how the result changes, because we may be aware of what we are doing.
Then, is there anything that we can check on/off in the settings to avoid FF to update the result for a while? I looked, but it seems to me that there is not. But I may have missed it.

Filter Forge architecture implies that rendering restarts on any change to the filter. Why would you want to stop that? Just to save a few CPU cycles or is there another reason?

Yes, to save CPU cycles.

If I have a filter like this in the picture, I clearly have the editor going a bit slow if it restarts rendering every time I do a small change.

But the filter doesn't need to be so big to have the editor slowing down. Also a combination of components like Percentile + Sharpen repeated several times may take its time and keep the computer busy.

I was wondering if there is anything I could do to turn around the problem.
