Render Channel -> Alpha map?

Hey guys,

FilterForge7 does not have an alpha map in the "Filter->Render Channels" menu anymore?

Is there another way to create alpha maps with FilterForge7? smile:?:

The alpha channels are provided as "transparency" in the output options when doing a Save Image As. If transparency is chosen (in PNG or TIF files for example), the output is in RGBA format.

...thanks for the quick reply.

I have tested this with the PNG. An image transparency is transferred but in photoshop cc there is no separate alpha channel - transparency is embedded in the RGB image - ok?!

To create an alpha map image a separate alpha channel is necessary so I have to mask the transparent area and then create a new alpha channel in photoshop channel control panel...

This works for me but it was easier with the alpha map item in the render channel menu in earlier versions of FF...

True about the Alpha being embedded, there is a slightly easier way in Photoshop, open the PNG then:
Layer - Layer Mask - From Transparency
Then select the Channels tab (in the Layers/Channels/Paths palette), highlight the new channel with the mask and turn the eyeball on, then turn off all the RGB channels. Next Crtl-A (Command A), Ctrl-C (Command C). The alpha mask is now in the copy buffer and can be pasted anywhere (say File - New, then Paste).
