Manipulation of FF discount price

Oh, it gets a lot better than that.

The day after I bought it for $130 ($120 and a mysterious $10 trans-Atlantic "sales tax") I tried to log in with the wrong browser, and saw it for $20 less, after they'd made such a bid screaming "OMG you have to buy NOW!" fuss about the special "personal" discount price. Usually when someone says "You have to burry and by now, the price is going to change tomorrow!" they don't mean "And it'll be 20% less, sucker!"

It happens - whatever. Other software companies have just said "oh yeah, sorrynotsorry, but here's the lower price." So I filled out a contact form. Crickets. I hear nothing back. Not even a "Nope! Ha ha ha!"

Then, days later, I get an email asking me to pre-order the new version. Seriously?

Yeah, ok, this too happens. Most software companies announce forthcoming new versions in advance, but some like to keep it a surprise. Those companies, you usually get an upgrade to the new version if you buy the old version right before it updates.

Well, I haven't heard back yet, but I didn't find out about it until recently, so it's not like I've been waiting long. We'll see what happens.

Edit: I heard back right away - they said they'd never gotten the previous one - and, as I said, that happens sometimes. The mystery tax was, evidently, VAT - which proves I'm not an expert in trans-Atlantic tax laws.

I'm still not the least bit happy with or impressed about the price dropping $20US the day after haranguing me about how I'd better buy right away before the price changes. I'm also not the least bit happy about the fact that they happily sold me seven when they knew eight was coming up in less than a month, and I'd get to pay half as much again for it.

But I did want to clear up those other two points.
