I know this ability was introduced in version 4 of FF, however, I recall that there was some individual efforts to make a tool which would allow FF v3 users to create folders and organize their filters.
Did this tool ever become available. I could sure use it. |

You're looking for FFCat found on the Wiki main page. (Scroll to the bottom area where it says External FilterForge Tools)

Thanks, Skybase! I didn't know there was a Wiki. BTW, you've created some great filters... I have several of them. I appreciate very much the work you (and others) have done in making the filters and making them available for FF owners.

Okay, I've downloaded FFCat and read the posts in a couple of threads that were created when it was being developed and I am a little confused.
I read that this tool works OUTSIDE of FF. My question is, after I use it to organize the filters I have into folders, will those new folders appear IN FF when I open it and want to apply a filter to my image? In other words, if I create a folder called "Painting" using FFCat and move the filters I have that apply painting effects into that folder, will I then see the Painting folder in FF the next time I open it or will all my painting effects filters still be in the default folder/category "Creative" where they currently are? |
