Hi ~ I just downloaded the new FF7 beta (Mac), thanks all for making it available!
I'm wondering, since I'm rather new around here, is there a way to transfer my gorgeous filter collection from FF6 to FF7? And if so, how? Thanks so much in advance! ![]() |

Thank you, SpaceRay and others...
I followed your suggestion, but the page you specified is about 6 years old, and is no longer accurate. I am on MacOS 10.10 and the items you mentioned have apparently been moved elsewhere... and I haven't been able to find them. Either that or I'm blind. ![]() Any other ideas? THANKS! ![]() |

Here is the instruction for the latest stable version, that is FF6. Please take a closer look at the file paths, they clearly show the version they refer to. You just need to follow this instruction using "Filter Forge 7" instaed of "Filter FOrge 6" in the paths.

Thank you, GMM and SpaceRay. – But I beg to differ…
I am on a Mac, running MacOS 10.10 “Yosemiteâ€. (The current version now in 2017 is MacOS 10.12 “Sierraâ€.) The note that you referred me to was posted in 2013 re: MacOS 10.9 “Mavericks.†Apparently some things have been changed and moved around since 10.9. ~ ~ On my MacOS10.10 machine, in the Mac HD/Users/My_User_Name folder, there is NO Application Support folder. in the MacHD/Library folder (not the Library folder that is in the Users folder), we have Library/Application Support/ -but there is no Filter Forge folder there. I did some searching around, and found in my MacHD/Applications/Filter Forge 6/Resources/System/Library/ and MacHD/Applications/Filter Forge 6/Resources/System/LibraryStructure.xml So I guess I found two of them. Still haven’t found Library.xml ![]() I did try just substituting the first two items into FF7, didn’t work… Tried using various key-commands to reveal anything hidden… no luck. -Maybe used the wrong key..? I’m hoping that there is someone listening here who is using FF on a Mac made since 2013, who could help me!! T•H•A•N•K•S ![]() |

I'm not a Mac user so I can't say what has changed since 10.9. However the paths should be still correct. Please open FF6, select any filter and press Cmd+L: a Finder window will open showing you this location:
/Users/Your_User_Name/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge 6/System/Library

![]() Anyhow, GREAT! Thank you GMM! All of my downloaded filters are now there in FF7. –But, not my Favorites folders that I have built in FF6. Is there a way also to bring over my Favorites collection, as well? ~ ~ ~ I have captured the droids and rounded them up! ![]() ![]() |

Favorites are stored in a single file. You need to copy
/Users/Your_User_Name/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge 6/Favorites.xml to /Users/Your_User_Name/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge 7/Favorites.xml |

Thanks, GMM. Well, that was simple and easy to do, but it did not work.
I wonder what I'm doing wrong, this time. I was very careful to put the FF6 Favorites into the FF7 folder per your instructions, restarted FF7, even restarted the computer but my favorites folder and all of its sub-folders are not showing up when I open FF7. ![]() |

Hmm... I haven't heard of issues with transferring favorites.
Do you have a complex favorites tree with folders and subfolders? Please try moving all favorite shortcuts to the default 'My Favorites' folder, restart Filter Forge and try again. |

I don't think my filter favorites tree is very complex. (See attached screenshot.) I had earlier changed its name from 'My Favorites' to 'Wood', I believe. In the parent My Favorites folder, I have 4 sub-folders, three of them having two sub-folders within.
(Does the default folder have a little green dot on it?) So I went back and renamed the 'Wood' folder 'My Favorites' folder and put all of my shortcuts into it, per your instructions, restarted FF7, but no luck... Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks again!! ![]() |

Hmmmm... Oh well, then. I guess I'm not going to get an answer. I started over from scratch in FF7 and rebuilt my collection of Favorites filter categories.
Thanks anyhoot. ![]() |
