Ok... So I just got the professional version (got it for Christmas courtesy of my Mom - I'm over 45 by the way), Anywho...
Let's suppose that I've gotten a new computer, and so I've decided to trash or sell the old one.
Let us also assume that I have already purchased FF6."so and so" - and I have downloaded every darn filter on the Filter Forge site...Great so far...Ok - now -
let's say that I go to C:/Users/"Me"/AppData/Roaming/Filter Forge 6/System/Library
after doing one of those "Locate My File" doohickees, and I copy and paste all of my nifty "ffxml" "Filters" into a new folder on my desktop, burn this folder containing my ffxml files onto a disk (or a zip drive), and then - when I set up my NEW computer - copy the folder contents into my fresh new Filter Forge reinstall - into my NEW "C:/Users/"Me"/AppData/Roaming/Filter Forge 6/System/Library" folder.
Question - Will all of those filters be in my library again - even if I am offline or on an "intranet", or "isolated" terminal - or are the "ffxml" files merely Filter Forge's way of telling the web site "YoooHooo - I'm over heeere - let me use this filter on your server please!"
In short - are these really full fledged "filters" that are real apps that are useable offline as well as online through FF - or just shell to online point to point flags? Are these files truly portable? Do I have to be online to use the filters that I have downloaded - to clarify - have I downloaded merely a bunch of web address?
What you call madness - I call family...
