I am trying to make a shiny 3D sphere of an image (ie not just create a coloured pshere but have an image reflectio or a curved transparent sort of effect.
Just about all my sphere filters render as a lozenge shape and not a sphere. what do you do to have a sphere shape from these? |

The problem when you attempt to wrap an image around a "sphere", you get what you see here (sort of a pillow). There are several possible solutions (seamless tiles, mirrored tiling etc etc).
If you can wait a day or 2 I can come up more or less with what you want, then you can mess around with it. ![]() Math meets art meets psychedelia. |

Thanks for trying that. Why dont spheres turn uo as spheres hiough in all these filters. They look like spheres in the preests. I tries seamless tiling too amd the same.

Actually I think I found my problem. I didnt pay attention to the message that popped up,when I opened my image to be used. I was using rectangular images rather than suqare as my source image!!!!!
Sorry to bother you !!!!!!!! Thanks |

There are ways to do it. Try taking a look at the code in Spherical Decals. If the image is brought in from the Color Control, you need to tile it. There is a Tiling group in the filter. Ah well, you found it!

I have already made a filter that takes an image and wrap it insde a sphere and adds a crystal over it, you can remove the crystal if you want
photo marbles Also alternatively is this option from Morgantao Image Ball Pit by Morgantao Is true that you will get better result from a square image than with a rectangular one, as it is easier to wrap correctly around a sphere |
