I have FF 4 and 5 installed and I wanted to make a tutorial for my members. As I am downloading some filters I want to use in a tutorial, I realized that whenever the filters are downloaded, they automatically go into the FF5 installation. Is there a way to either direct the download the FF4 OR to copy the filters from FF5 to FF4?

If you have FF 4 open when you download a filter it will open in that version (Same for any other version of the program).

I doubt it. FF is not backwards compatible in that way. The other direction (earlier to later) should work by copying the ffxml files from one folder to another. There's a "locate file" command when you have a filter selected that will open the file folder the ffxml file is in in explorer/finder.

You can not copy the filters from FF 5 to FF 4 because in the moment that you download them on FF 5 they are given the version of 5 and it becomes incompatible backwardly.

what you can do is to use FF 4 filters on FF 4 while you have FF 4 as Threedee has suggested, if you go to a the filter website library and try to open a filter, it will open in the latest version you may have, BUT if you already have FF software open in the version you want, FF 4 in your case, then it will always open the filter in FF 4 instead FF 5

You can safely and surely copy any FF 4 filter inside FF 5

Be aware that you will not be able to download any filter with the 5.0 on the top left corner while you have FF 4 open
