Hello,
Firstly, I love Filter Forge.
In FF5 is there a way to turn off tiling so that no image is displayed beyond the frame. And at the same time to turn off that obnoxious yellow notice that anchors itself smack in the middle of the frame?

I would guess that you are talking about seamless tiling........You can turn off that in the settings tab of the filters.....Just uncheck Seamless Tiling.... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times!

Then for the warnings you can turn off warning by going to the menu at the top and go to Tool--Options.... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times!

Then go to the "Interface" tab and uncheck the following that I circled.... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times!

Hi CFandM,
Helping me again. Thanks.
what I really need is a default no seamless or any type of tiling. I now un-click it and yes no tile but I go to presets and again I get tiles. So now again I have to go to Settings and un-click and wait for the new image to render. I never want tiling. I just hope there is a way to do this.

Thats one of the settings that can be saved with the preset...So the only way is too turn it off like above or turn it off and save it as a preset.... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times!

CFandM is right, the only way to disable the seamless tiling that is inside a prest is to upd ate the preset with the seamless tiling unchecked, although this will not work on factory presets (the ones that comes with filter by default) so then the only way is to save a new preset
Regretably the presets does not have any way to put a description or mark to specify which ones are seamless and which not
Be aware that presets store all the information related to all of the settings of filter forge, so if you change anything in he settings or some of the FF in the menu, it will go back again to the prese t settings

Well let me request a master do/do not tile toggle switch.
It's not a deal breaker but will be good for workflow.

Perhaps I am asking too much to have a MASTER do/do not tile toggle switch?
Looks like I will have to live with this inconvenience or begin to appreciate seamless tiles.

Do you mean a toggle switch that would override any tiling setting stored on the preset ?
the same happens with Antialising setting that is stored in the preset, if you put any antialias setting it will be changd to the one of the preset, and this happens with all the settings stored on the preset
Sorry that I may not understnad fully what is the real problem and what is the inconvenience that you have to live with.
If a preset you have is stored with seamless tiling you just uncheck the seamless tiling, and if you want to keep it always that way, upd ate the preset or make a new prese t

I guess global switches are a fine utility addition to FF's interface. But it doesn't sound that useful considering most people have per-filter settings. Some filters may rely on those settings as well. No guarantee that a global switch will behave the way it should.
Ultimately I think it doesn't take forever to find that checkbox, it's always in the same place.

In my case I never use tiling. If I am on a preset and the image tiles I have to hit the Settings tab then may have to scroll downs to un-check Seamless Tiling.
Apparently I am the only one that sees this as an inconvenience. Thanks to all for participating on my thread.

Sorry, that there is something I do not understand after all the information given above, I mean that I do not know what is the inconvenience
If you never want to use tiling and you find a filter that has the tiling activated stored in the presets, then you just need only to do once the following
FACTORY PRESETS (the ones that come with the filter when you download it)
1 - Choose the preset that has the seamless tiling and is a factory preset
2 - Uncheck the seamless tiling
3 - As you can´t upd ate the filter because is a factory preset, you just save it as a new preset, and then after this it will always have the tiling inactive when you use this preset and have not to repeat this ever again (unless you delete the filter)
4 - Repeat the same with all the presets that you want to disable the tiling
CUSTOM PRESETS
If there is a filter that may be downloaded from the forum and it has presets with tiling, then
1 - Choose the preset that has the seamless tiling active
2 - Uncheck the seamless tiling
3 - Upd ate the prese t, and then after this, it will always have the tiling inactive when you use this prese t and have not to repeat this ever again (unless you delete the filter)

Apart from the above one suggestion I have another way to see it
- Option 1 - You can uncheck the seamless tiling and then upd ate the preset and so you save it without the seamless tiling
- Option 2 - If you can´t upd ate it because is a factory preset (the one that comes built-in from a downloaded filter), you can add a new preset without the seamless tiling
- Option 3 - If you do not want to add an additional prese t in option 2, then you can make a copy of the filter, and then all the factory prese t are deactivated and you can be able to update them
