I'm new to Filter Forge, and really amazed by it (wish I had found it years and years ago). I haven't learned yet how to make filters, although I have experimented with modifying a few just a tiny bit.

I am looking for a Bone China filter (like Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, etc.) -- I've tried the Chinaware ones and looked at a lot of the glaze, ceramic, and art glass, but none seem to be quite what I had in mind. (A vellum sketch filter by JE Strange and StevieJ's soft saturate filter kind of come close, but still not perfectly what I was looking for. Also, the Cobalt Oxide filter looks a bit like Wedgwood or a blue cameo, but the color isn't quite the same tone.)

Can anybody suggest any filters that remind them of bone china?

Two filters come to mind, not necessarily what you want, but in that direction:
Decorative Plate, which shows you how to light a plate to get a more realistic look, and
China Ceramics, for a ceramic look with a pattern.

I actually don't need for the plate to be circular -- what I was looking for was the finish.
I'm reading a book about American Art Pottery right now, and some of the Victorian and Art Nouveau pieces are so pretty. But I figured more people would know what Bone China looks like, so I asked it that way.

Hey Haras,
If you post some images of what you have in mind, people might be able to help you better.

You might take a look at some of the 'tiles' for finishes. For example:

This is a Cambridge tile works example that is more iridescent (by the way, I don't have to have the blue color, I'm looking for the effect):

A Rookwood turquoise:

and a classic cameo:

Classic Cameo

I suppose it boils down to wanting two filter effects:

A raised bisque

A shiny iridescent, almost opaque, wet look without much distortion

And I'd prefer to be able to input my pictures, but square/rectangular is fine (it doesn't need to be in the shape of a bowl, vase, etc.).

I tried this example using Styrofoam Image (Effect)

I'd like for her face to show up a bit better, but it is pretty nice.

This one was done using Foxee's Cameo, but it is a bit shiny and I think more of the face definition is gone (BTW, the lady comes from a Victorian photo on the Library of Congress's site)

I tried modifying the filter for Corvus Croax's Rusterizer so that it produced a bit lighter results:

Weirdly enough, the filter called Put On Jeans did this:
