Can Librarian be used with different Library backup versions?

Can Librarian be used with different Library Backups or does one version of Librarian require a related version of Library Backup? Or in other words: must one buy both products together each time an update is released?

I read Library Backups are only released with every new release of Filter Forge.
So does this also apply to Librarian?

Yes: FF4-compatible Librarian won't work with 5.0-compatible Library Backup.

No, you are not forced to buy anything: you can use your FF4-compatible filters as long as you wish.
