Why are Librarian and Library Backup sold seperately?

Hi,

Since Librarian doesn't make any sense without a Library Backup installed I'm a bit confused.

Both products are sold seperately and buying both only one software package is delivered.

So what's the point of selling these products as individual products? Does it have to do with licensing like buying two Librarian licenses for two computers and one Library Backup which can be stored on a portable drive? This scenario looks odd as well: multiple users could share one Library Backup.

And what about using an old version of Librarian and keeping Library Backups updated; is this possible? I think I read somewhere both should be of the same "version". Or is it like a particular version of Librarian must be compatible with a similar version of Filter Forge?

How is that supposed to be done? All filters are numbered files so no way to know which filter is which file. The only way to find out is first browsing the thumbs, write down the file name, go to other folder and find the related filter file name. From there copying files to the active library.
Very laborous approach.

Or is the basic idea installing all -close to 11000- filters into Filter Forge?
