There is a filter here at FF that does a nice ONE color infrared effect, called "true infrared sim."
I'm wondering if anyone knows of an FF filter or Any filter that can do MULTICOLOR Infrared as in the following. Keep in mind I'm starting with a non IR photo with sunlit Green trees and bushes and a sky with a few clouds and a lake or creek. I'm trying to simulate the look of these IR photos that can be seen at these 2 links below. http://masteringphoto.com/wp-content/uploads/pic3.jpg http://infraredatelier.files.wordpres...1-copy.jpg Thanks for any help |

This has some attributes of what's called full spectrum photography. If that helps anyone to help me find a MULTICOLOR Infrared filter that will yield a result similar to the results at these links

It may be necessary to do one or more selections and apply a filter to every selection separately.
I tell you why. From what I see on your first photo, there are trees and plants that in the original photo are probably all a very similar kind of green. But in the infrared picture they take different colors. Applying the same filter only one time without any selection would probably make all green areas of a similar variation of white ( or pink, or another color, depending on the settings ). Also that blue color may not come up if the rest of the picture is with so light and clear colors. I will try to do something to use on the whole photo. Let's see if I get anything good. |

Great and very good idea, I also have seen some time ago some beautiful multicolor infrared photo example and they look very good, and would be awesome if FF could be able to make some similar results

Very beautiful photo ddaydreams.
I'm making some attempt, but until now I don't have the same results as in the photos you posted. Basically the idea was to start from "true infrared sim". This filter uses only one input for the color, obtained through Invert and Hue or adding also a Color control. I thought to use Threshold to separate different areas of the photo, getting 2-3 inputs instead of only one, then apply 2-3 Hue components with different color variations. But the results are still not nice and neat like in your photos. Even sharpening them, they don't look too nice. I must probably try a different way. |
