Paid version no longer working

Hello, I have quite recently purchased version 4. It is buggy but OK.

Since downloading the version 5 to test, I now cannot import filters from the server into version 4. I am told I need to UPGRADE.

I am very unhappy about this. As a South African the dollar exchange rate is high. Surely if I have purchase a years value, I should get my years value.

I would like a response to this please. I feel like I have been sucked into money making scheme.

But I have paid for version 4 and I would think this should be an annual license. I cant pay randomly whenever there is an update because it makes it impossible to budget. Can I please have the update for 6 month for free and then I will pay for it. I feel this is more than fair.

Maybe I got what he means. He had FF 4 installed. Until there, the things were OK.
Then he downloaded and installed FF 5 that, as we know, can't download the library filters.
FF 5 not only installed, but also became the default FF version to open and download filters ( this mean that if he tries to open a filter of the library, it goes to use FF 5 for downloading it instead of FF 4.
FF 5 will pop up the message that the filter can't be downloaded, asking him to upgrade ( when there is nothing to upgrade because anyway FF 5 can't download it ).

MichD. If this is the issue, please check which version of FF opens when you try to download a filter.
If it is FF 4, you can simply click Tools and then Updates in your FF 4 and it will download and install the last update without that you have to pay any other money.
If it is FF 5, try to change the default application to open FF filters from FF 5 to FF 4. If not working, just uninstall FF 5 for now, and everything will be OK.

No: this means if you install Filter Forge 4.013 now and we release 4.014 some time later, you will need to install 4.014 (or any other latest version) to be able to download filters.
