Upgrading from Standard 4.0 to Pro 4.0

I curious about the sale prices going on right now. I have Standard 4.0 and thinking about going to Pro 4.0 because of the ability to deal with greater canvas sizes.

The cost for upgrading from Standard to Pro is $150 but the cost to buy Pro 4.0 is on sale for only $99, so it would seem a no-brainer to just buy the Pro. Am I right? (Brain in long-day shut-down mode)

One other question, when 5.0 comes out, will you still have to get the Pro level to deal with bigger canvas sizes?

Honore, the support team sent you an email about upgrade pricing.

You will always need the Professional Edition to be able to render images over 3000x3000 pixels.
