I've seen several threads related to this but they seem very old and no working links to some of the efforts mentioned on the posts. Is there a working script of some sort somewhere that will update all components to the newest versions? I found a rather large snippet I want to test within my filter but when I look at the huge number of components to replace it is a bit daunting.

Why in the first place you want to replace the obsolete components?
I mean is there any reasons that really needs that they are updated and replaced?

Could it be really possible to use a script to replace and update obsolete components? smile:?: smile:?:

Currently we've got no plans to introduce a component auto-updater in FF 4.0

I don't that there are currently but in old forum posts there were refrences to people who had or were writing components and even one link to a broken site. These were old (2009?) or so there might not be one - which is why I am asking. smile8)

I ask this because a filter with obsolete components will work in the same way in FF 4.0 as it would have newer components, although it depends on what components and how you combine them, and if you need some of the new features of updated components.

Maybe you have a filter with some obsolete Color Controls that do not allow images and want to change them for the new ones.

Be aware that some NEW updated components will NOT give the same result as the replaced component, as for example Offset component
