It's not the ideal solution, but it is free*, multi-platform, and open source.
* Requires at least Mathematica Player Pro 7. Unfortunately the free Wolfram CDF Player states: http://reference.wolfram.com/mathemat...ments.html "Ordinary Mathematica notebooks can be read by non-Mathematica users using the free product, Wolfram CDF Player, which allows viewing and printing, but does not allow computations of any kind to be performed." ![]() ![]() Whether or not the "enterprise CDF" will run this nb file or not, I can't say, and I don't know what the price is: http://www.wolfram.com/player-pro/how...pares.html So, if you can find a free copy of Player Pro 7 or more, by all means enjoy the following. Otherwise feel free to use the source to develop a better program. Batch.nb _____________________________________________________

When you open the file you will see the following. I've added blue and red hints to suggest the sequence necessary to get this thing to spit out rendered files. Steps 4, 7, and 8 have two options depending on whether you are:
a) Using 1 image with multiple settings (as in animation) on the left b) Using multiple images with 1 setting (batch rendering) on the right ![]() _____________________________________________________

I'm anticipating rewriting this to include entries for multiple values that can be animated, but at this point it's a quick and dirty 1 variable animator / batch processor.
Hacking strings was a bundle of fun for the last couple of days, now back to creativity. ![]() _____________________________________________________

I only tested this on a Mac using OS 10.6 and Player Pro 7, but it should work on a windows machine as the proper substitutions were made for / and \ depending on directory type. Here is the source text:

If there is any error such as:
"StringDrop::drop :..." best to make sure that you don't have 'automatic' controls order set in the filter: In Filter Editor go to Filter(Menu) -> Order of Controls -> Custom and save Also note: The 'silder', 'intslider', and 'value' control ranges are mapped to 0..1 , 1..n , and m..n in the 'Start' and 'End' fields respectively. _____________________________________________________

This is one of the neatest things I've seen by the way, and while it's been quite a long time since its last update. This is gorgeous stuff. It's a bit nerdy but I guess it helps some people.
Personally I've been using FFbatchmaster, although I guess this is another alternative I can turn to. |

![]() One major caveat here I found tonight, is that it only works correctly on the 1st preset in some rare cases. Somehow the default preset controls are sorted correctly, but the other preset controls are not (FF problem, not mine). So... IF PROBLEM, THEN MOVE THE PRESET YOU WANT TO RENDER TO THE FIRST POSITION. ALWAYS SELECT PRESET 0 ![]() _____________________________________________________
