Hi!

I've been around since FF 1 and have always had basic. I am unclear on how the subscription to Professional works.

First, do the quarterly installments of 89$ stop when you have reached the 399$ fee?

Do you just keep paying 89$ forever or is it 29$ ???

How long is a quarter, 3 months, 4 months, 6?

Where does the 29$ fit in?

If there is a page on this site that explains in more detail, I could not find it.

I am quite confused, can someone explain ... ??? smile:?:

I would like to have Professional with the discount, but I need to understand the subscription process before I upgrade to this method.

Thanks for listening, hope someone replies before the discount is over ...

THis is the information found here

Professional Edition by Subscription (Windows) NEW!

Optimize your license payments by purchasing a subscription for the most functional Filter Forge edition.

You will get a new license key each time you make a small quarterly installment. Note that the subscription always provides you with the latest Filter Forge version – all upgrades will be free!

The initial setup fee is available at a discount – you save $70. The discount expires soon, so act quickly!
$159 original price without discount first quarter
$89 price with the discount first quarter

+ $29
every following quarter

So following this that is written above you would have to:

1 - pay now 89$ when buying filter forge, and you get the first license key,

2 - then after the next 3 months (a quarter) you will have to pay 29$ and get a new license key,

3- then after another 3 months, you pay another 29$,

4 - and then the following 3 months pay 29$ and so on.

So after the first time that you pay the initial amount, you would pay 116$ (29*4) each year and get all the upgrades for free.

SpaceRay is right.

I'd also like to highlight the free upgrades clause: as long as your subscription is active, you always get the latest version. That is, if you purchase an FF3 subscription now you'll automatically get upgraded to FF4 when it is released -- at no extra charge (compare to the $129 upgrade fee for those who have a permanent license).

If you stop paying the subscription are you left with nothing like an Adobe subscription? or if you've made a certain amount (maybe a year)of subscription payments does that entitle you to keep the version you got when you first started paying the subscrption like e-on software does with Vue?

You are left with good memories of the past smile:)

By the way, you can resume the payments at any time and get a new key for 3 more months. I'm not sure how Adobe handles resuming subscriptions after a pause.

Yes, I would like to know this as well. Months ago, I pre-ordered FF Basic 4.0. Just a few days ago, I signed up for the subscription to have FF Professional.

So, if I miss a payment for the FF Pro subscription, am I still able to us FF 4 Basic because I purchased it separately beforehand? Also, am I still able to use my previous versions of FF 1, 2 and 3 Basic if I miss a payment on the Pro 4 Subscription?

So, is it true that if someone only has a pro subscription and they do not have any previous versions of FF and they miss a payment, they would not be able to use FF at all until they make another pro payment? When you resume payments, do you have to pay the installment fee again?

Can you have a regular FF license and also a Pro subscription at the same time?

There are a few things to be clarified.

1. Treat different major versions of Filter Forge as separate programs. They have separate library locations, separate license keys, separate everything.

2. We have only one executable for all editions, and the functionality is determined by the license key. That is, if you have a Basic license and a Professional license you can switch between them without reinstalling – just fill in another key.

Does this answer your questions, Cybersparkle? And no, you don't need to pay the installment fee again when you resume your payments.

Hello!

I have been happily on the 29$ subscription plan since this post in 2013.

I may have to skip a subscription for the next billing cycle.

1) Will I still be able to use Filter Forge 6 professional and just not get any future updates to filter forge pro 7?

2) Will I just drop down to Filter Forge 6 Basic?

3) Or will I drop down to the last non-subscription FF Basic License, which was Filter Forge 3 Basic in 2013?

4) And if I do drop down to Filter Forge 3 Basic, this means I will not be able to use any filters I downloaded from FF 4, 5 and 6, correct?

Thank you for your patience, I have faithfully been around since FF ver 1 and I hope I do not need to skip a subscription cycle. However, if I need to, I will re-start it as soon as possible, Filter Forge is essential to my work.

Thanks again, I look forward to your response.

How come? You have a 3-month license: if it expires, it expires entirely.

You can install FF 3 alongside with FF 6 and switch back to FF 3 when your subscription expires.

Yes, that's correct.
