I just downloaded the program yesterday, in anticipation of purchasing. If I want to use a filter, I know to click on it and use it in PS.
What I want to know is whether the filter is downloaded and stored w/the program or whether I have to go online every time I want to use the same filter again? Thanks. ![]() E |

Yep when you download a filter it is stored locally on your hard drive so no need to download it again...

As said by CFandM, when you install Filter Forge for the first time is created a new folder to store on your computer all the filters that you want to download fr om the library and as said you only need to download it just once and it will appear always after in your filter list, unless you uninstall Filter Forge.
Also when you install a new version of Filter Forge you have the option to import and copy your own existing filter library to the new version so you do not have to download them again. To know WHERE does all these filters you download are located in your computer, please see this other thread Where are the downloaded Filter Forge filters located physically? Also have to say that would be a good idea to make a backup of the filters that you have already downloaded, because if something bad (wish it does not happen) would happens to your computer and you loose the data, you would have to reinstall your Filter Forge and download again all the filters unless you have a backup copy saved in another place outside of your computer. Guide to how to backup your FF filters library from your hard drive It would be very good if there could be a direct and easy option already available in FF 4.0 but there is no news about this, it would be good that you did not have to go to the filters folder to make a copy, and be directly made by the Filter Forge software. TWO WAYS TO DOWNLOAD FILTERS FROM THE LIBRARY Also as you are new, I want to say that there are TWO different ways to download filters into Filter Forge Please see this other thread Advantages and Disadvantages of using the OL and OLIFF Filters Library
