Hello, i am making a game where you will find ores to mine. There are alot of awesome filters here to create awesome ores with, but there is one problem. I need to render only the ore itself with a transparent background. I plan on putting the ores on a flat plane and apply DX11 tesselation on it so make it into a 3D shape, but for this to work its important that only the gem itself is rendered, no dirt/rock/other details.
Do any1 know a good filter for this, or is there a way to change an existing filter to do this? I have been looking around for ages, and think its time to ask for help ![]() |

There is this thread that I responded to some time ago....You can also post the link to the filter in question or ask/email the original filter author..

Hi Trond,
It's usually fairly trivial to create a filter with transparency. It's really not hard to create a filter which separates out one type of part. Just open up the filter, start poking around, and there is probably something which could function as an alpha for that part; put it all on a switch and you're good to go. Sometimes you might have to subtract thing A against thing B, or put it on a threshold, but it's all pretty minor. Best, -CCX |
