Hello everyone,
I'm pretty new on the FF scene so it's maybe appropriate that I first introduce myself briefly: my name is Davide, I'm from Italy and I make my living doing photographic post-production and pre-press jobs (mainly in the art business) - besides that I do code PS extensions and scripts.

Which is the why I've finally found my way in the FF world (in the past, from time to time, I've visited the FF page but only very recently I've felt kind of an irresistible magnetic effect ending up with a buy smile;) ). Since I'm still in the steeper part of the learning curve - and alas I've few time to spare playing with the plugin - I'm now just lurking under the hood of existing filters with a sense of wonder. Damn how many talented minds there are!

One of the first things that I've found surprising is the way you people master gradients and curves in order to get... well almost everything. So I've started exploring myself using the tools I'm more familiar with, namely Photoshop and Scripting (still quite scared by FF somehow smile:) ). I came up with something that you may find trivial (because FF is vastly superior on that respect), but from a strict Photoshop-centric point of view is far from being obvious: basically I've coded a script that allows me to parametrically draw PS curves (i.e. I input Javascript math functions).

Well, funky things start to appear when you mix such curves with gradients. I've shown a bit of my findings here, that I'd like to share with you both as a way to thank all the people who's in turn shared their own work, and, possibly, as a source of inspiration to the newcomers like me willing to start exploring this fascinating world!

Kind regards

Davide
