I screamed about what would happen if things didn't change here...and here we are...a ridiculous 70% discount...making the regular price look way over-inflated... Guys... It's all in the involvement here...and creating collateral sales from it... Server space is dirt cheap...so I would suggest taking a good look at the models of Second Life, Deviant Art, Renderosity, etc...and consider implementing portions of those models...and use it to get involvement and traffic going here... I would even suggest something like offering free user websites, galleries, shops, etc as rewards...and connect filters, authors, forum, etc to them...giving a shot in the arm to involvement, traffic, and sales... I'm sure you get the idea of what I'm saying... smile:)

I agree! When the price of a product is discounted too much and too often, no one will ever pay the full price, which in turn makes the discounted price the normal rate. Lowering your prices like this makes those that paid full price feel they were ripped off and reduces the overall perceived value of the product. This is not a good way to increase sales and build loyalty from your customers. A much better business plan is to offer a wider variety of services. Build on your strengths. FF is a powerfully creative program that is addicting and fun to use, and is useful for designers and artists in many mediums. Let's see some cool ways we can all display our work and maybe even sell what we create using Filter Forge.

Good points...especially on that 70% discount... Letting FF users and authors "set up camp" here would bring in the traffic...and create program sales... There's so much wasted potential here...and could all be integrated into a rewards-based system where FF could benefit from the competitiveness for high usage...and the increase in filter quality from that...

I agree that FF inc. and the users could all benefit from some kind of user shops.

Yeah...and use it in the rewards system for authors to attain more enhanced levels of it...which would create cometitiveness and quality filter submissions for high usage...while stirring up alot more traffic for sales and making the program better with a continuous influx of new quality filters...
