How do I export the sharpest and cleanest image file?
The previews I'm exporting at jpgs are somewhat pixel-y. I see that there is anti-aliasing up to 68 passes and a choice of edge only or all pixels. What will give me the best seamless tile for export?

I usually do around AA-25 and all pixels on edges. But as far as export you can do jpeg it usually looks decent at a high AA rate.....The best image format thou is Tiff but you might have to open it in a graphics app to save it back out in another format... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times!

Thanks! I want to make textures to use for texturing Poser clothing and I need tight textures, nothing pixely.
The preview renders are very pixelated. When I chose an AA I wasn't quite sure how to tell when it was done rendering. I'm assuming now that when the green progress bar is gone then it is done. I just didn't see much difference from the first pass to the last.

Since the preview image could be much smaller than the actual render, you can't always see the difference between settings.
You can set the renders to full size, and compare better

I have the standard version. I don't see where I can set a render size.
What I had done when checking for how crisp the textures were was to take 600x600 sample from a well known 3D vendor's texture map and put it side by side with a 600x600 seamless tile from FF. I clipped the vendor's sample from a 4096x4096 texture map. The FF tile was AA edges only and 25 passes. The FF tile was much more pixely than the vendor sample.
Perhaps I was comparing apples to oranges? I am not sure. Opinions please.
I'm getting ready to make textures for a 3D model (rocks and cliffs) and want to make sure the textures are crisp the first go around.
I also own Alien Skin's BlowUp (if you think that may help in someway).

It's hard to give a general answer since textures vary so much - smooth, shiny, bumpy, grainy, etc. First of all, I suggest never saving a texture as jpg because you will lose detail when it is compressed. I like to save as png. I would also suggest a little higher resolution if you are going to use them in Poser. Go for 1024x1024 instead of 600x600. As far as AA, I find I need to change the settings all the time depending on the texture I'm making, and on some I turn it off completely.

I'm making textures for my models now and will see how they look in use. I don't see where I can up the output size to 1024x1024. Can someone direct me to where that option is changed?
According to the Buy page I should be able to output up to 2999x2999 size.

Pffft! I went all through the menus but never clicked on new image. I have only been using FF for a couple of days and only had existing filters open or watching instructional videos. Thanks bunches!!
