In this tutorial we'll be covering the basics of exporting a surface filter out to a 3D software package like Maya. The tutorial will deal with Maya specifically, but the methods are applicable in most other applications such as Houdini, Cinema4D, Carrara, Daz Studio and so on.

Keep in mind the tutorial does go mildly in depth and assumes you understand how to do some basic operations in Maya. The tutorial also does NOT use MentalRay to keep the workflow simple as an explanation. If you have further questions send them to skybase[at]gmail.com or otherwise just post them here.

I have just seen it and it looks interesting, although this have a poor quality and can´t be seen really what you are doing, and this is even with the scaling of vimeo activated.

I will download it and will try to see it outside of the browser and with another video player

I like how you explain things and your voice, and liked the initial japanese smile;) smile:D , you speak really well english

UPDATE NOTE

There are TWO versions of the video, the one that is played I think is the SD .MP4 archivo (576x360)

And is possible to download the Original version .MOV (960x600) that think will be better

so instead of viewing the video online with the low resolution, is better to download the original one and view it in your own computer.

If anything: somebody should donate me a couple bucks and I can upgrade my vimeo account to pro. So I can display those tutorials at a higher resolution.

Hmm. Happy to help. However, I went to do this, and found that you need a Vimeo Plus or Vimeo PRO account to turn on the Tip Jar for a video.

So you'll have to upgrade yourself to Plus ($60) first, but if you do I'll commit to tipping 1/4 of that cost ($15).
