Hello,
I was able to add FF3 16bit to the Lightroom 4 "edit in" menu (Edit>>Preferences>>External Editing), along with all my other image editors.

Problem is, when I right-click on an image in lightroom and choose FF, FF opens, but NOT with the image I selected, rather the native "life preserver" image. This doesn't happen in my other editors.

Is this an enhancement or a bug? Is there something I can do to fix it?
Thanks,
Renny

Seems to me that Lightroom opens up Filter Forge as an external Image editor and not as a plug-in...So the image that you use does not open because Filter Forge does not know to open that image..Filter Forge is opening as if in Stand-Alone Mode...What you need to do is install FF as a plug-in....In Windows find...C:\Program Files\Filter Forge 3\Plugin Then copy this into your Plugins in Lightroom..(I have not used Lightroom) so I am not sure if it even supports this......

I think that perhaps the problem is that Filter Forge is not an editor software, it is a plugin software, so perhaps there is a missing link or bridge that is the one that should send the image from Lightroom to Filter Forge and then back to Lightroom.

I do not know really if Filter Forge can be compatible with Lightroom or not

Filter Forge has never supported LR as a host application.

Clear answer from GMM smile:)

I have not used Lightroom but I think I have seen that the Plugins for Lightroom must be made specially compatible for Lightroom and is not compatible with the Photoshop Plugins directly. Please if I am wrong, tell me as I do not really know if this is true or not.

Here is a list of the available plugins that are compatible with Lightroom 4 and also the external editors that can be used

Its plug-in architecture allows third-party developers to create a huge variety of software plug-ins that let you add new features and capabilities to the already rich Lightroom toolset.
