I have had a few (one fairly popular) site where I did all my own html stuff and designing... but to be honest, I prefer a simple straight forward approach, clean and easy to navigate, no extra scripts making things go this and that way while trying to read something... I'm just glad I don't play with html any more. I liked all the other stuff, like adding my art and projects
Sounds very interesting though. If you do think about it, would you be sharing any info on the progress/plans you might have for it? ~Foxxee~

I told you how we met.
I have never made a website yet. I used to do HTML stuff at my forum, but you can't do that anymore. When it was free we could, now we pay and get folders instead. Oh well. We have to have an outside place for uploading stuff and link to it from my forum.

plans? i'm supposed to make plans for things like this? it was always just pot pourri. just throw stuff up and see what sticks. i had a few pages with images and then an index page where you could download a few things. nothing fancy. it was more handy than anything else.
you've mentioned this folder system before, ahimsa. is it like having web space reserved on the forum for you only? If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

At my forum instead of just having threads, you can create folders and then add threads in them. Sort of like here. Before you could only have threads so the forums would get quite lengthy. I used to have the most popular chat/fantasy forum there, but when the doc said I could have a heart attack at any time I made it private and removed most of the people. It made a lot of people angry and they still won't talk to me, but a message forum is not worth me having a heart attack. Too bad they couldn't understand that.
I gave each member of my now private forum a folder and they can add all the threads they want. Hans and I have one forum just for our artwork and I have another that is like a forum host resource forum. I have a variety of things in there so folders were very important. Dream interpretation and politics just don't work together well in one folder.
Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night? The moon was orange. Very pretty.

Oh, anyone can have a forum there, but if you want to post more than ten posts per day you have to pay an annual fee. I do the 2 year fee of $20. I use one forum as an archive and have stored things in there for many years. You can't store files or even upload pics there. You have to use a site that allows direct linking like photobucket, 4shared, or your own website. You can use these forums at your own website if you want.

Yes, live on TV
I can't see the sky out my bedroom window, but I sure can see the neighbors... more than I'd like to see. And that sort of 'moon' I'm not interested in watching ~Foxxee~

ok, ahimsa, so the folder thing is basically just an allocation of 'space' into which you can put other stuff, much the same as a windows folder.
nope, didnt know about the eclipse. Quote |

I went outside and looked at it. I watched for awhile, came in, went out, came in, then watched out the bathroom window, then went out.

(back to the original topic)
I may not post alot of comments on filters, but thats more due to lack of time to hang out here.....my day job has been crazy as the deadline for this game is just a month away now, and they decided to change a bunch of the characters...so i am literally back to the drawing board LOL
So if I seem to ignore your filter.....its not really ignored, I try to see whats new in the library pretty well every day

And about going 'back to original topic' I think it's Spread The Love... this is how these guys do it... I guess

Wow, then you do have a great outlet for using your textures in... I'm almost jealous
I've always loved all these newer 3D games because of the use of some really fascinating textures, but RPGs are my first love when it comes to fantasy types of textures ~Foxxee~

Hehehe..... Well, you know who I'm talking about.....the ones who interact with you in their filters, but can't be bothered to take a minute to look at any of your filters and post any kind of constructive critism or acknowledgement (not even a smilie).....so I'm done with the "one-way-street-ers" I'll post in new author's filters until it's clear that I'm wasting my time on someone who is not going to reciprocate any of my efforts.....so my new motto is "you-look-and-post-in-mine and I'll-look-and-post-in-yours" Steve

----No offense, but that seems just as childish as people who never post about other's filters really. Maybe I've just been around too long, but I don't feel any need to post anything if I don't want to, and I am just as happy praising 3 filters a day if I see ones I like, as I am not posting for a week. I just don't see any connection what-so-ever, between who comments on yours vs. who's you comment on, it's just like whatever catches your eye, or if a thread has some interesting discussion going on whether it directly relates to the filter or not. *shrug* Even when I take a hardline in some technical arguement ha-ha, I usually allow that o.k., so there is some percentage of people who wants B over A, and yeah, FF has to make a choice, which group of customers is more likely to purchase FF because of a change or new feature. The things that are "right", or "the best", do not at all have any extra leeway in the real world nor online. Choices get made, and as long as no one gets hurt (or in the case of forums insulted too badly I guess), then it's just another day of ones & zeroes, or coffee breaks and hard labor eh.

I didn't used to feel that way.....but now I do. I liked it better the way it used to be around here when CF and Zeph were around.....much better community air then. I still try to help anyone who needs it.....I just don't comment on everyone's filters anymore Steve
