You know Persidio I think it's like you said in a previous thread that it doesn't really matter about samples or comments or anything other than if people find a use for the filter. But thanks for thinking about it. @ronviers

Hi Ron... welcome to the chat thread..
Don't get depressed okay? I gotta find a way to cheer you up...
You motivated me to start a stretch routine... used to then havn't anymore. Do you listen to music when you stretch? Did you ever check out my Imeem playlists? Free and Imeem gets partnerships with artists to get permission for songs over 30 second play bites. They have quite a few aritsts on board to allow full verisons of songs.
I'm getting tired and will be going to bed soon. You will email me if you start to get despressed and let me cheer you up right?

Ron has a point though... take my lace fitler for example... no samples no nothing. But then again I knew it wouldn't need a sample because it was a lace filter.
Some fitlers though do need samples because you really can't see the power of the filter and it may not be something they are familar with. Hard to say... I think it might depend on the filter.
About samples and posting in the forum... I get nervous sometimes and have to overcome it. So I understand how others could shy from posting previews and such. Previews dont' scare me so much anymore... but I still get butterflys posting sometimes... afriad I'll say something that someone is going to jump on.
Took me months to warm up... It can be very intimdating to post in the forums when someone is new to FF.

You started this idea you know, Ahimsa. You asked everyone one night to go take it into the GD forum, and that got me thinking it was probably a good idea. Good for you, there is something rejuvenating about stretching. I'm not talking about pussy-footing around stretching I mean *real* stretching. I don't really listen to music any more, I used to, it became a distraction. Not the music but the logistics of providing myself with music. Two hours is a long time. What I care about mostly is having the two hours be without interruption.
My advice for you if you do start a routine is to not try to judge yourself in intervals of shorter than ninety days.
I volunteered to do some waiting for someone this morning so I will be offline for a while. BBL @ronviers

LOL
Well I used to teach Aerobics.. Run Distance (two sports bra's and then a lighter sports shirt over that) and lift free weights. Did that for over a decade. During that time I used to be very flexible and luved to stretch. And yes two hours is a long time to stretch.
Also in beginner stretching it's important to keep the knees bent. If you do not then you transfer the strain to the lower back. Keep the knees bent and keep the stretch on the muscles. Then as you become flexible you won't have to bend the knees and the back will not take the strain. (((Proper form is important when working out or stretching))).
Instrumental music is great if lyrics make the music too busy and you want to quiet your thoughts. I like instrumental guitar. Imeem has playlists with instrumental music only btw. I can find some instrumental playlists for you on Imeem if you want~ In fact I know I have some 'favorited'.
Back to stretching... you know there was a German doctor can't remember his name (old research)... that came up with a techinque of gentle rocking (((I mean this in the cleanest of ways... sounds bad but I don't mean it that way)))... when stetching that helps the muscle to stretch when new to stretching. ((Not for a long time... for a 10 or 20 second count,, then stop and do at 'static' stretch for that muscle... (this will bring gains... but gentle static stretch only and for a short time with bent knees... stretching should not hurt)... and always do to one side what you do to the other.
BTW have been meaning to tell you... (((I luvs the Kill Bill quote)))

I think stretching *should* hurt and bending your knees is cheating. I am very limber but it didn't come without a lot of pain. Fortunately the pain is nothing like when I started - almost two years ago.

Beginners need to bend the knees though... advanced stretchers ... no. Beginners yes.
Flexability comes~ I used to do splits and chinese splits all the time in my cool downs from exercise... beginners have to start simple... flexability comes with time. And when you reach an advanced stage of stretching... no... doesn't hurt. Doesn't have to hurt while getting flexible either. ((The trick is making sure your muscles are warmed up... after exercise is the best time... ))((light stretching and warming up prior to exercise,, but your gains in stretching will come after you work out...))
Right now I couldn't do the splits if my life depended on it,, LOL. So I have to start from scratch... bent knees... blah blah blah... haha. LOL
Warming up the body with light exercise,,, fast walking, or even dance to the music at home also gets the body ready for stretching. If you stretch without having the muscles warmed up you can hurt your body. (((I didn't want anyone to read this thread who hasn't stetched and to push their body then hurt themselves... disclaimer... Persidio told you to warm up... bend your knees and it should not hurt to stretch... LOL...
And always have your doctors permission before stretching,,, LOL.
Yep... dislcaimer...

You get to work on that!
Here is my exorcise program:
Eat a bowl of noodles with four tablespoons of crushed red pepper and one tablespoon of black pepper – that will get the heart going, detoxifies the body and releases endorphins – and you’re going to need them for the next part. Then stretch like *hell* for two hours. Then take a hot bath. Sounds crazy but I bet it gets faster results than your plan.
I recommend this program even for beginners. Sure it does a lot of muscle damage but they grow back - young and tender. @ronviers

Carbing up?
If you eat right before exercising (two hours of stretching is exercise) ... your stomach does not digest food when exercising from what I understand.
Now it's been a while since I've been into the hard core routines and diet regimen but I'll be glad to share with you some of what I know.
For detox... Vitamin E, C and selenium... Garlic is a natural detox too btw. Also a great detox is to sweat it out... body releases impurties thru the sweat glands.
To keep muscle cramps away... lots of water during the day and eat a bannana. The bananna has potassium which you lose during exercise and can cause cramping if you dont' have enough potassium... along with lactic acid build ups (sorry can't remember the tricks for this one.. been a long time since I've been into this heavily.
Also when I was working out I used to take Liquid Fish Oil (Omega 3's)... wheat germ and aminos. And 'no' junk food or high fat foods.
Curious if you take aminos? The natural breakdown of protiens.
Quote |
---|
Sounds crazy but I bet it gets faster results than your plan |
LOL
Well results are not fast with exercise or stetching... slow and steady is the name of the game. Long term goals are best in this area. Those looking for fast results are likely to hurt themselves.
Endorphins are released when exercising. If you are looking for endorphin type moods ... find out and try to stay with foods that increase seratonion.
Music... can increase your mood too and the funny part about music is that when you exercise your heart will try to steady itself with the beat of the music... that's why Aerobic Instructors try to use tapes by 'BPM'... or 'beats per min'. True. Music also lifts the mood and endorphines... I call it music therapy,,, LOL.
Oh the bath,,, 'hydotherapy'. Great for the muscles but you should cool down prior to the bath.
LOL

That’s good to know and good news too because I just use the noodles as a vehicle to get the capsaicin into my system - I need to maintain my girlish figure.
I do take the fish oil but I hate bananas. Blah! I rarely have cramping issues and I don’t know about aminos.

Going from memory it's an herb that preserves a youthful look. I've eaten them all my life... when people say they don't like tomato's they usually look old for their time... BRB with the info...
Oh.. I normally grow them every year.. not this year ... but yes.. lots and lots of tomatos.. have photos but they are on disc. I even dry them in the oven and mix with homegrown herbs .. the dried ones are great for stews... and if you put them in a glass or ceramic jar and seal (have to be completely dry first)... they will last for 3 to 6 months.
