We've made changes to our reward system:
1. Reward Points have been introduced – this is a kind of currency to exchange for rewards. 1 Reward Point equals 1 High Usage Rank filter. 2. You can look up the statistics for your Reward Points in the Your Reward Points section at http://www.filterforge.com/more/reward_points.html 3. The reward for 4 HU filters (4 Reward Points) has changed. Now it’s 5 coupons for a 30% discount (used to be 10 coupons for a 10% discount). 4. From now on, when a filter of yours gets High Usage, we’ll send you an email notification. For details, take a look at http://www.filterforge.com/more/freecopy.html |

it looks like the stats dont include reward points already spent prior to got my free copy(not that I am complaining).
But I do finally have enough for my lifetime upgrade...woohoo (and I dont need a second copy anymore since I lost my day job ![]() Rawn |

Excellent!
A few questions though: 1) Say I'd like to buy a copy for a friend. Can the license be issued on my friend's name instead of my own? Should my friend make an account here so I could 'transfer' the needed reward points to him? Is this transfer of reward points even possible? 2) If I had more than one license, I assume 'life-time upgrades' must be bought for each of these licenses to make all of them 'life-time'? 3) Can licenses be issued to a different name than the forum display name? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

So we make a selection from the menu, hit *Claim*, then what happens ? Like if we want to claim a copy for someone else, will we be given that choice after clicking on *Claim* or how does that work ?

I would think that spending your HUs for someone else would be a special request thing. The "Reward Claim" seems to be automated just for the account you are logged in under and using to look at it.....
It looks like HU credits are just deducted from you account on whatever you have chosen to spend them on..... Steve

as usual, i seem to be the thick-headed one. i dont understand the fourth one here? if 3 reward points gets you a free copy, then why does 4 reward points only get you a discount of 30%? and if 1 point gets you a 20% discount, then why do 5 coupons only get you a 30% discount? i mean, i was never great at math, but i'm missing something here. i get all the rest of them; it's just that fourth one i dont understand. That just looks like an option to me......either get the free copy with 3 HUs and have one left over......or use 4 HUs to get 30% off of 5 copy purchases.....

you mean get 5 coupons at 30% each for 4 HU's? if that's what it means then it shld say 'with each coupon'. it's certainly not clear the way it is. but then, like i said, i can be thick-headed sometimes

No. To see the Your Reward Points section, you've got to be logged in and you can only see the statistics for your account. Well, if you login as another user, then of course you can see the stats for that user. |

What is it exactly that your stats don't include? What did you spend those points for? As far as I remember or can find out, you only spent 3 points (HU filters) to get a free copy. But it might be that some data is missing from our database. Better write to me via the contact form or via the PM -- we'll deal with your case individually. |

Yes. You should select "free copy" as a reward, complete the process, wait for the email with the link to the registration form, then just type your friend's name and email into the registration form. The license key will be sent to the email you provide and the free copy will be licensed to the name you provide.
No.
It's no longer possible to transfer 1 or 2 points as we used to permit. In fact, it isn't possible at all to transfer points as such. You can only give a whole free copy.
Yes.
Yes. To whatever name you like. It's a registration name, it has nothing to do with your forum name. The email doesn't have to coincide with your forum email either. |

Another question: Could my existing (i.e. beta reward) license name be altered after the fact? For some strange reason, it's registered to this "Crapadilla" guy, and I thought about registering it to my real name... ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Then the reward points are taken off your account ![]() And you receive an email with further instructions. If the reward is a coupon -- then a coupon. If it's a free copy -- then a link to the registration form. If the lifetime upgrades -- then a notification that we've added you to our database.
Yes, you will. Not right after you click "Claim" but after you get to the registration form -- see my reply to Crapadilla above. |

O.k., got it so far. Clarification about some math though. It looks like spend 3 HU's for the free copy of version 1, or 5 to commit to FF til you die of old age, boredom, or whatever ha-ha, but if you don't choose lifetime for 5 at first, then it's really 8 because it's 5 *more* later on when V2 comes out then basically ? If I get a copy for a friend with 3, they'll owe 5 more later on when V2 comes out unless I use 5 now, and secure their lifetime updates ?

In fact, the actual cost of lifetime upgrades is always 8 points because they won't be of any use to you if you don't have a working copy of Filter Forge. Well, of course you can buy a copy... But if we are talking about points, then you'll have to spend another 3 points to get yourself or your friend a free copy -- before or after you get lifetime upgrades. This might sound as a trick about "5 more" which is in fact 8, but then these are upgrades, and they somehow presuppose that you should already have a copy of the program, don't they? |

Hi Bella, thanks for all the info
![]() I was wondering if there was a way to show authors user statistic rankings on their filters.....ie - is the filter gaining in use, remaining average in use, or heading for a low usage ranking. As it stands, you can only see where it is in popularity by downloads..... If I could tell which of my filters were not being used and heading for a low usage rank, I would focus my attention on improving those filters before they become low usage...... Steve

thanks, bella. much better. and you never have to apolgize for your english. it's a lot better than some native english speaking folks i know ![]() i would also suggest putting a link to this thread on one of those pages that explain the system. this thread could become your "REWARD POINTS FAQS". i'm also in favor of having your actual HU's show up on your rewards point page. this would be very helpful. i'd also suggest putting in a totally separate page showing those that have won a free copy. this is generally pretty good advertising. you might even allow them, the winners, to write something up, a small testamonial to how they did it and how long it took and how much they enjoy FF and whatever else. also, one question... what the heck are coupons? ok, i know what a coupon is, but i mean, is this something you guys send out in an email or by normal mail or what? is it an actual graphic thing or just something where you say, ok, you've got a coupon now. it's sort of insignificant, i know, but just curious how you were actually doing this. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

So uhh, not to be a jerk about it, but this system is either not automated, or it's buggy. I clicked on claim yesterday, and I haven't received any email yet. Is this normal, or did a glitch occur or what's up exactly ? Thanks.

It's probably not "fully" automated and screened by someone at FF first to stop any possible hacking into it (flash to the recent PT1 incident).....and they are not around on the weekends to do it.....

I've found out for certain -- no, it cannot. As the license name is tied up to the license key in a Filter Forge license, changing the license name would be equal to giving you another license. |

Yes, it might be useful... Don't know if it's easy to implement, though... And the thing is that anything that isn't quick and easy probably won't be implemented in the nearest future. Coupon is a word. It may be meaningful, or it may be not -- just a combination of symbols. You receive it by email and then you enter it - type it or copy-paste it - into a special field of the order form called "Your coupon code". Then you hit "Update" and see the discounted price.
Good thing. But some people have so many there might not be enough space! ![]()
