Question about licensing?
Believe me I appreciate the free copy and Im not trying to be greedy my question is based upon the number of personal computers I currently use ff on I have 19 at home and 7 at work with ff installed on quite a few since I multitask alot if You would let me know about the per processor licensing If I will need to buy additional copies Just let me know I might purchase 2 or 3 since beyond that is a little pricey for me Please inform me of the per processor licening for Your produce And again much thanks it was a HUGE!!!! surprise that I would even be considered let alone approved for a free copy So believe me I would hold no disgruntlement or resentment if additional copies would need to be purchased by me Again thanks ![]() lets all whine for a wine port |

Voldemort, I thought that one of your lastest distortion filters had earned you the software for free? I would think that FF would (or at least should) give you unlimitted free copies and updates for the rest of your life

???? good filters You need to look at some of the other folks here Mine are definatly mediocre in comparison
But Im just willing to try anything no matter how retarded or insane it might appear at first glance and I definatly dont like the answer --it cant be done anything can be done with computers --we just maybe havnt figured out how to tell them how to do it yet lets all whine for a wine port |

volde's a hard worker apparently, I can only guess how much time he's spent on his filters, I'm sure I pale in comparison time-wise, and lord knows I've wasted countless hours ha-ha.

A house, well, there ya go, that's a mansion compared to my daylight basement 1 bedroom unit here ha-ha. I dunno how you managed to get/keep 19 computers, I have 2 currently, and I've been trying to find someone around here to give the old one to, before I give up, and turn it into an ashtray.

Vladimir,
Sorry, I read what you quoted from the Eula, but I didn't fully understand... If I'm one person, but use two computers, and have one copy of FF on one computer, do I legally need to buy another copy of FF to use it on the other computer? (I'd normally only use one computer with FF anyway, but that computer is presently getting repaired (and it's taking over a month) -- so I'm just curious...) |

I've been thinking about the license issue as well.
During the beta, I used FF on two machines, my personal studio workstation and my home internet machine. While the beta version could be installed and used on an unlimited number of machines, the standard release version is restricted to a single machine, AFAIK. So, if I installed the standard version on my two machines, using the same license key, I'd already be violating the EULA. ![]() In the future, I'll have to spend my weekends in the studio... ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

I just wished Filter Forge Inc. would use a user-centric licensing scheme instead of a machine-centric one, like these guys here do. ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Sure. I'm not a lawyer, but the following two paragraphs seem to be most illuminating on the user-centric scheme...

provided that only one such copy is used at any one time -- yes, this is a familiar scheme. We thought about this, but decided to go with our current scheme, at least until someone suggests a better idea. We'll revisit this later.

The link I gave above provides a very good summary on the user-centric scheme, and why it may be more user-friendly than the machine-centric one. Personally, I like to be able to take my tools with me whereever I go...
